Some people accept the home they buy at face value -- it's move-in ready and nothing needs to be changed. Others see something greater. Others dare to dream. This guy is one of those dreamers...
Here's his front porch. Honestly, it's not bad!
But he just saw bland.
So he started to clear things out -- first, the bark pieces.
Then he took a jackhammer to his stairs!
Full disclosure: his neighbors did question his sanity at this point...
Then he tore up his perfectly good lawn.
But it was all (supposedly) in the name of progress.
The first of many retaining walls -- this one would be for a little garden.
Some steps were added once more.
And he began constructing a pathway.
I see where this is going...quite literally.
More stone walls were installed.
He used crushed gravel as a paver base for a side patio.
And stones were added over it.
Those retaining walls have purposes, too: planters!
And there you have it!
Bottom line: everyone should tear up their front porches and do this!

Even in the middle of that whole process I thought he was a little crazy...but the end result? Nothing short of amazing!
