It shows Tom Clark, 96, and his wife, Arnisteen, 92.
The couple, from Georgia, US, have been married for nearly seven decades. Earlier this month they were both checked into Piedmont Fayette Hospital to be treated for separate health complications.
They were put in different rooms. The only time they’ve been away from each other was when Tom was stationed overseas in Korea with the army, so being apart was hard.
But director Tina Mann got clinical staff to move their beds together. The gesture meant so much to Tom that he burst into tears. ‘I just can’t be away from her. She’s the finest woman in the world.’
