MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel Beer is itching to play in the finals of the PBA Philippine Cup.
Having swept Talk 'N Text in four semifinal games, the Beermen became early finalists for the season-opening tournament.
They are now waiting for the victor of the other semifinal series between Alaska and Rain or Shine, which could end Sunday.
San Miguel Beer coach Leo Austria liked what he saw when they returned to practice after the holiday break.
“You can see in their body language na naiinip na sila. Gusto nila laban na. That’s a big positive sign for us,” said Austria in the PBA website.
“Medyo kino-control nga namin dahil baka maubos sa practice. Gusto namin mental conditioning lang at paghandaan ang mga pwedeng gawin ng kalaban.”
He added that they are closely monitoring the semifinals clash between the Aces and the Elasto Painters. Alaska is leading the race-to-four series, 3-2.
“Naka-depende sa resulta non ang resting period ng team namin,” Austria said. “Baka mag-break pa uli kami depende sa resulta nang laban ng Alaska at Rain or Shine.”
